SUMMARY:

Metro Inc. is seeking a dynamic and motivated Summer Intern to join our HR Field team for the summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions and support the HR field team in delivering exceptional service to our operational clients.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSBILITIES:

- Provide administrative support to HR Field Managers, including generating weekly reports, validating employee schedules, composing registered letters, scheduling meetings, etc.

- Update employee information and track grievance activity, employee complaints etc.

- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and coordinating and conducting orientation meetings

- Facilitate communication of non- union transfers and promotions and bargaining unit promotions to stores

- Conduct exit interviews

- Assist with HR projects and initiatives.

- Reorganize and digitize files

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Human Resources or a related field

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

- Ability to work independently and within a team environment

- A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn
