SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for supervising an in-house design team as well as work direction for external design consultants for the development of creative design concepts and production drawings for an assigned banner providing recommendations and design solutions for the evolution of design proposals and banner requirements.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide recommendations and review assigned store design proposals with Planners and respect established budgets.
- Review and approve all drawings for accuracy and that they are in accordance with Company standards. Supervises team to ensure the timely completion of projects by monitoring progress throughout the creative process.
- Oversee, assign, review, and follow up on feasibility reports, exterior signage and landlord communications.
- Conduct timely site visits to ensure accuracy and provide design solutions that meet Company standards.
- Provides recommended solutions and weekly project status updates to Manager to proactively address any issues.
- Analyze project requirements and prepares Request For Proposals (RFPs) for third party design and feasibility consultants.
- Manage all third party design and feasibility consultants to ensure accuracy of work, identify potential issues, and ensure work is completed according to project schedule. Ensures designs meet Company and Banner standards and that design intent has been met.
- Prepare Landlord approval packages and authorization letters.
- Attend consultant meetings as required.
- Prepare preliminary and final Store design layouts, fixture plans, and construction details for internal review and presentation to client for assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Architecture, College degree in Environmental Design, Technological Design or other related subjects
- 5-7 years of experience in project planning, project Design or project Management, preferable in the retail sector.
- Must be proficient in Auto CAD. Must have knowledge of Sketch UP an REVIT and other design software such as Photoshop. Must have a strong knowledge of the Windows PC environment and a basic understanding of SAP. Good knowledge of OBC standards.
- Knowledge of the Windows PC environment (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Effective negotiating skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required
- Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve deadlines.
- Ability to plan and achieve project activities and identify and prioritize urgent and critical tasks both for assigned team and self.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of a professional environment
- Traveling on site. Sometime more than one day
- Have a valid license an a car available at all times
