SUMMARY:
The Produce Replenisher is responsible of reviewing and purchasing commodities he or she is assigned by the Senior Buyer, to satisfy the store requirements while maintaining the optimum inventory level to deliver the highest quality and freshest products possible.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Construct orders to maximize the Distribution Centre efficiencies and supplier distribution allowances (for full truck, full pallet, full layer) using ITrade RFQ system.
- Review promotional needs with Senior Buyer, quantity and price for all banners, Quebec and Ontario.
- Follow and address reconciles for quantity and price with accounts payables and vendors.
- Communicate with warehouse personnel concerning product being received and shipped to the stores.
- Create new vendor or product requests with SGDM and ensure follow up.
- Monitor inventory aging and rotation using system tools.
- Ensure store order coverage is met.
- Assume the Buyer’s responsibilities in his or her absence.
- Identify potential overstock situations proactively and inform senior buyer and Director.
- Occasional visits to the Food Terminal, vendors, competition, and stores.
- Responsible for ensuring vendor returns are followed through.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-Secondary education.
- Produce industry experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP a definite asset.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
- Ability to work in an office environment and telework.
- Flexibility in hours of work is required.
- Occasional weekend work on a rotation basis.
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
