SUMMARY:
The Business Service Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting business operations and driving service excellence. Success in this role hinges on strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including store leadership, merchandising, supply chain, and corporate partners. By working closely with others, the specialist ensures that business processes are executed efficiently, issues are resolved promptly, and service standards are consistently met.
This role requires a proactive communicator who thrives in a team-oriented environment, values shared goals, and actively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. Whether coordinating store support, analyzing performance data, or implementing new processes, the Business Service Specialist must foster strong relationships and maintain open lines of communication to deliver impactful results.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the successful delivery of technical and process-driven initiatives from inception to completion. This includes designing and implementing new business processes aligned with strategic objectives, managing timelines, and coordinating resources to ensure seamless execution.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to identify inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions that enhance accuracy, scalability, and operational efficiency. Implement best practices and continuous improvement methodologies to support evolving business needs.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex business challenges. Perform detailed data analysis to diagnose root causes, develop corrective actions, and collaborate with Metro IT for system-related resolutions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Provide expert-level guidance in designated areas of specialization to both business teams and Metro IT. Deliver second-level support for system and process issues, ensuring timely and effective problem resolution.
- Maintain broad technical and process knowledge across multiple business domains. Offer strategic insights and functional advice on how proposed changes impact organizational goals, enabling informed decision-making at all levels.
- Create, update, and standardize comprehensive technical documentation, including process maps, user guides, and training materials, to support knowledge transfer and operational consistency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post Secondary Diploma/ Degree in a related field.
- 5 – 7 years of relevant experience - grocery retail experience is an asset
- Process analysis is required, prefer lean six sigma or experience in other process improvement models
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and ability to set appropriate priority levels
- Ability to analyze data including identifying issues and relationships within the data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Travel to Montreal and/or Ottawa as necessary
- Available to work weekend as required. Required to be on call and be available for assigned periods.
