SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the merchandising for the Bakery category. This position directs all aspects of procurement, replenishment, retail pricing, retail merchandising, and promotional activities to achieve budgeted sales and profit margins.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:
- Creates and manages department budget.
- Responsible for all aspects of the sales, margin dollars and rate, shrink, distribution rate and basket size, customer transactions, and Private Label distribution rate.
- Assists in developing new Private Label products, transitioning brands, and strategies to achieve sales and profit targets.
- Oversees forecasting and validation of weekly, period and quarterly plans.
- Develops banner strategy in conjunction with senior management and oversees its execution through department resources.
- Develop strategies with Marketing/Advertising to increase revenue.
- Work with Store Operations teams to achieve targeted shrink levels by store.
- Responsible for strategy and execution of item selection, negotiation, distributions and sell through.
- Responsible for planogram, retail position-plus all new store layouts, adjacencies and flow.
- Oversee market research in order to identify revenue opportunities.
- Visit stores, competitors, vendors, trades shows to keep abreast of developments and opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University Degree.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant working experience.
- Intermediate computer skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and achieve deadlines.
- Knowledge of SAP systems required.
- Experience in Managing a team
- Some travel required.
