The typical salary range for this position is $62 400.00 - $93 600.00 annually. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.


This posting is for an existing full-time, temporary backfill, ending September 2026.


SUMMARY:

To make our food store operations ever more efficient, Metro is setting up a continuous improvement team whose mandate will be to identify and implement initiatives to improve our operational excellence in order to better serve our customers. Whether it's implementing technological solutions or reviewing ways of doing things, the continuous improvement team will work in collaboration with the operations teams of our banners (Metro Québec, Metro Ontario, Super C, Food Basics, Adonis) to simplify and improve the experience of our customers and employees. The incumbent, in collaboration with a multi-departmental team, has the main mandate of collecting, analyzing and measuring data in order to identify opportunities to optimize our operational processes within our stores and to facilitate decision-making and project prioritization.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Collect and analyze data and statistics to produce reports with periodic performance indicators to 
assist in decision-making
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets and create data visualization 
tools
- Analyze existing data by finding correlations or establishing statistical models to understand current 
megatrends and improve supply chain impacts on store efficiency.
- Support the deployment of a distribution network optimization model
- Analyze, document and map business processes
- Identify automation opportunities to ensure process optimization and improved operational efficiency
- Design and improve work tools aimed at simplifying and standardizing operational tasks
- Assist in defining end-user requirements to meet business needs
- Apply statistical and mathematical models to understand and solve problems on data

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

- University degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or any other relevant field

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
- Strong ability to analyze, manipulate data, synthesize and model operational issues
- Maitrise Power Query, Power BI
- Proficiency in VBA, SQL and Python languages
- Proficiency in MS Office suite software
- Advanced level in the development of office tools (Excel and Access – macros and VB)
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Experience in retail (asset)
