The typical salary range for this position is $41 280.00 - $54 180.00 annually. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.

This posting is for an existing temporary, full-time position ending on September 4th, 2026.

SUMMARY:
Metro is seeking a motivated Product Development Assistant to support our Corporate Brands Product Development team in development of food and non-food product.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with development, preparation and testing of new and existing products.
Participate in product evaluations in a group setting.
Evaluate preparation instructions for new and existing products.
Assist with product shopping and market reviews.
Recipe evaluation and development for new and existing products.
Support cross-functional collaboration with QA, and business teams.
Record and track product samples, and other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Enrolled in a Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or related undergraduate program.
Experience in product development an asset
Enjoy cooking and trying new cuisines/recipes
Basic understanding of safe food handling, Servsafe certificate an asset.
Highly organized, able to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
Ability to work both collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and independently as required.
Great communication skills
