The typical salary range for this position is $57 885.00 - $78 315.00 annually. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.

This posting is for an existing full-time, temporary backfill until September, 2027

SUMMARY:

The person in this position is responsible for acquiring equipment and awarding service contracts for assigned construction/renovation projects within specified timeframes. As an equipment specialist, they will work closely with project managers, planning, and design departments.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in project transfer meetings with planners, designers, and project managers to identify equipment and service needs;
  • Provide recommendations for equipment selection for projects, considering current national agreements and the supplier incentive program;
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications;
  • Prepare budgets for assigned projects per scope of work based on the fixture plans using an excel template form
  • Determine equipment and service requirements based on the layout plan and other complementary documents;
  • Ensure that prices and conditions for equipment and services covered by national agreements are respected;
  • Prepare and send tender documents to suppliers for the relevant merchandise groups, analyze the results, negotiate, and make recommendations;
  • Request, analyze, negotiate, and recommend prices for equipment and services not covered by an agreement.
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers through SAP and ensure follow-up throughout projects;
  • Update reference documents or work tools;
  • Perform any related tasks.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

College study (2 years) in procurement or related to procurement..

  • The ideal candidate should have 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement or a related field. However, we will consider any other combination of education and experience that is relevant.
  • The candidate should also have experience working in a team and with a variety of projects.
  • Required skills: Knowledge of Office Suite software, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
  • Familiarity with SAP, supermarket equipment, refrigeration, and blueprint reading is an asset.

  • Autonomy and leadership, excellent priority management (ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines), ability to work under pressure in a changing environment, curiosity, and a desire to learn.
  • Focus on providing quality work and service, paying attention to detail, and utilizing strong customer service skills.
  • Utilize interpersonal communication skills to effectively negotiate and solve problems with analytical thinking.
