The typical salary range for this position is $98 080.00 - $128 730.00 annually. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.

This posting is for an existing permanent full-time position.

SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager Operations - Case Ready Meat is responsible for day‑to‑day leadership of production activities across meat, seafood, value‑added, RTE and frozen categories. The role ensures strong operational performance, food safety compliance, cost efficiency and alignment with Food Basics store & Metro DC. This role is the pivot between our production, procurement and logistics (cross‑functional departments).

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with our partner, manage red meat facility, with over 285 employees and 19 million KGs per year with programs that include case ready beef and pork cuts, lamb and veal, ground meat, sausage and value added.
  • Achieve performance targets (yield, throughput, labour efficiency, OEE, service levels).
  • Liaise with various internal teams (Merchandising, Central Procurement, Private Label, Marketing).
  • Execute directions from various internal audits and maintain plant accreditation.
  • Maintain strong coordination with upstream and downstream supply chain partners.
  • Translate corporate strategic priorities into executable production plans.
  • Monitor and maintain quality KPIs, design and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure alignment with merchandising forecasts, procurement flows, and corporate initiatives.
  • Applies the established control procedure to measure compliance with Metro specifications.
  • Ensure CFIA, HACCP and internal compliance.
  • Lead and develop production teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, HR, Planning, Procurement, Finance and Logistics.
  • Provide operational reporting and updates to the Metro executive.
  • Support execution of the expansion and modernization project.
  • Execute capital projects in alignment with strategic goals
  • Leader of workplace culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Administration or related subject
  • 8 to 10 years experience in retail and processing
  • Communication skills
  • Bilingualism would be an asset
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office suite skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good knowledge of the meat sector
  • Requires fluency in English (spoken and written)
